BOOKASUR: A DEMON WHO EAT BOOKS
Reading month was celebrated in the vidyalaya from 19thjune till 18thjuly. The month long reading activities have been conducted in the vidyalaya“to enculcate reading habits among students”
Number of competitions , workshops, sessions, donations, yatras were performed.
We participated in “Shimla international literature festival”which was a good exposure for the students and they happen to meet and interact many literary person from Different parts of india. Students participated in many activiteies there and brought laureal to the Vidyalaya.
We also had “ meet the author session” where MeenakshiChaoudary the writer of “Ghost stories of Shimla” met with the students who participated in Story telling competition.
Reading yatra was performed to make people realize the importance of reading. During the yatra which was from school to Ridge ,students told the tourist and the local people to leave their mobile for some time and read . free newspaper were also distributed to them.
Then we have made a library app for android and ios phones. Master Anshul and msIshratParveen Librarian in collaboration were the creater of the app. Principal sir MrMohit Gupta launched the app in front of students and it was appreciated by all. Important feature of app are one can see school website and library blog plus one can have access to e-book which are uploaded in the app.
Main attraction was the appearance of “booksura” a monster who eats book.

Library On Wheels- Book Exhibition by NBT
Book fair: A mobile library
A mobile library, also known as a bookmobile or library-on-wheels, is a service that provides access to books and other library materials to communities or individuals who may not have easy access to a traditional brick-and-mortar library. Mobile libraries are designed to bring library services and resources to people in rural or underserved areas, and places like Palwal where there is no good book store as well as to those with limited mobility.
Mobile libraries play a crucial role in promoting literacy, supporting lifelong learning, and fostering a love of reading in communities that may otherwise have limited access to books and educational resources. They are particularly important in rural and remote areas, as well as in some urban communities where library access is limited.
All the students of different classes were made to visit the mobile library with their teachers and were told to select books for purchase in the library. A story telling session was organized by the NBT , students were very excited to be part of the session. Books were well kept and the mobile bus was managed very well by the staff. Entire day was celebrated like a festival well organized. The fair was inaugurated my Honourable Principal, kv Palwal along with librarian and other distinguished staff members. Library Palwal purchased books recommended by teachers and students in the library.
